case study:Claire & Mark

A traditional-style cottage kitchen near Bath

This kitchen is also the family dining room and the cupboards line two walls of the room.

All the kitchen cabinets are solid wood with cock beaded front frame made from tulipwood. The worktops are blocked oak with a matching oak trim. The cabinets are painted in Old White and have been fitted with traditional oak knobs to match the worktops.

The sink is a double bowl Villeroy & Boch sink with a chrome bridge tap; an integrated dishwasher has been fitted to the left of the sink.

For storage Claire and Mark requested a four-door larder cupboard with adjustable shelving.

For cooking Claire had an Aga and bought a new integrated single oven, which was housed in a kitchen cupboard with one drawer below. The Aga had kitchen cupboards fitted either side to maximise storage and food preparation space, these were fitted with heat resistant panels for extra protection.

A special requirement of this kitchen was the small movable island cabinet, which was fitted with lockable casters.

Claire found us through a website search for a local Bath kitchen supplier and has since recommended us to friends in the village. We have completed a number of our solid wood kitchens in Bath and the surrounding areas.
