case study: Meredith

“To say I am pleased with my kitchen is an understatement, it is both beautiful and functional, and it makes each day I work in it a joy.

I stumbled upon you in 2006 when I was looking for a kitchen in my new build house, and was delighted with the resulting kitchen and your caring and professional service. It was a tough decision to put the house on the market just over two years later and leave my kitchen behind, but I am sure it was a huge contributing factor to the quick sale of the house. I had no hesitation in coming back to you in 2009 for you to help me design and make my new dream kitchen. As I am now running my celebration cake business from home, my kitchen had to be both functional and practical, it is both of these things and beautiful too.

I especially appreciate your attention to detail, care and ethical concerns while still providing a kitchen of outstanding quality and at a very fair price. I have a kitchen that is homely, practical and professional, that instills envy in all who visit!

I will continue to recommend The Saturday Shop to anyone considering a new kitchen, and wish you every success in the future.”

Bespoke kitchen in South Wales

Meredith works from her farmhouse kitchen as a cake designer, so her new kitchen needed to be practical, with plenty of storage space, and fit the specific requirements of her cake design business.

She wanted a stylish individual look and chose toning shades of red/stone colours for her units.

The kitchen cupboards are fitted along one wall with a central island unit opposite. This central island has a storage cupboard on one side and seven soft close pan drawers on the other, there is also overhang space to sit up to.

All of our bespoke kitchens can accommodate integrated appliances and in Meredith's kitchen an integrated dishwasher is fitted next to the sink. A concertina cupboard has been fitted to the wall with an attached open wall shelf and plate rack. An open wall unit is fixed to the other side of the same wall to act as a bookcase for cake designs and cookery books.

A special feature of this kitchen is the large free-standing food cupboard with two pull out wicker baskets on beech wooden runners.

Meredith originally found us on a website search for custom built kitchens and has now returned for her second kitchen.
