case study:Louise & Simon

“Throughout the whole process from design to kitchen installation we felt The Saturday Shop worked with us to fit the kitchen we wanted. We have a large square room, so the possibilities were endless! They worked up a couple of solutions, which we then commented on and tweaked. Several things were changed before we finally committed, which were dealt with as if we were all working towards the final solution.

We chose quite a radical colour scheme, which was accepted and genuinely not questioned. In the end everyone in the workshop wanted to come and look at the finished product! We never felt we were being pressurised into having a kitchen they thought we should have, which cannot be said for some other kitchen designers.

They also have a first rate follow up – and came back to tweak a few things once installation was complete.”

Louise & Simon, Bath, Somerset

A very individual kitchen painted in strong colours

Louise and Simon had unique specifications for their kitchen in a barn conversion near Bath, and we were pleased to work with them to achieve their vision.

The kitchen base cupboards and island are painted in a striking dark green, with the wall units in a lighter contrasting 'Breakfast Room' green, matched with dark green ceramic knobs.

The ceramic one and a half bowl sinks, have a brushed nickel tap mounted between them and drainage grooves are cut into the granite worktop. Part glazed wall cupboards have been fitted either side of the customer’s cream Rangemaster cooker and matching extractor hood.

One special storage specification was for two larder cupboards around the tall fridge and freezer, with a bridging cupboard across the top to make the most of the space. These two larder cupboards both have pull out chrome shelving with adjustable baskets each side.

The island cupboard unit is central in the kitchen so needed to look stylish as well as being multifunctional. It has a breakfast bar and two longer sides with room to fit stools underneath. A waste bin, on pull out runners, sits hidden below the large food preparation area and a microwave oven is housed in the side. Extra lighting was installed under the wall cupboards and ceiling spotlights.

Louise and Simon came to visit us on recommendation from a previous customer in South Wales.
