case study:: Cristina & Andrew

“When we decided to replace our kitchen we found that using 'standard' kitchen units we were having to make compromises and since we were not making significant layout changes nobody would notice we had a new kitchen. We wanted something with a 'wow' factor and Saturday Shop can certainly provide that.

The ability to size the units to the kitchen make an enormous difference to the look of the kitchen. The ability to choose precisely what you want each unit to do give great flexibility and the colour options are unlimited. We actually chose the colour by taking the colour samples to the granite supplier and matching to our Kashmir white granite. And because the units are free standing fitting is easy and can be done by a competent DIY person.

We now have a kitchen that fits perfectly with our farmhouse, it has a 'wow' factor and no one else will have the same kitchen style and colour, it is unique to our house.”

Solid wood bespoke kitchen with 'wow' factor in South Wales

Cristina and Andrew wanted an updated kitchen based on their existing kitchen layout, but found that 'off-the-shelf' units didn't fit or work as they wanted. The beauty of a custom built kitchen is the fact that it’s built to the customer’s specifications, so we were able to supply exactly the units they wanted.

A strong feature in the finished kitchen is the tall glazed top cabinet with matching open base cupboard. To maximise storage space this has open corner shelves on both sides.

The double bowl Belfast sink is sited in front of the kitchen windows and, below this, under the granite worktop, space was left to fit Cristina and Andrew's existing freestanding dishwasher.

Cupboards were fitted each side of the Rangemaster cooker, balanced with wall cupboards each side of the extraction hood; a pelmet across the top finishes this off. A tall freestanding cupboard was made to fit next to the fridge freezer and a small cupboard was made to enclose the electric meter high on the wall.

Cristina and Andrew came on recommendation from previous customer for a kitchen in Cowbridge, South Wales.
