An oak, traditional-style, bespoke solid wood kitchen in Norfolk

A kitchen that really shows off the beauty of wood and natural materials, it has been built in a traditional style in solid oak, treated with a clear satin lacquer; this is complimented by solid oak and grey granite worktops, and a natural brick stone floor.

Benjamin and Julia wanted a large central island with cupboards and an overhang large enough to seat four. On the other side of the island, behind a door, are two waste bins on pull out runners; next to it is cupboard space and drawers, including a cutlery drawer.

The kitchen has a long wall under the large kitchen window allowing for a good run of kitchen cupboards to include an integrated dishwasher and a pan drawer cupboard.

At the end of the kitchen run is a larder cupboard with four doors, with a two-door wall cabinet fixed to the left hand side.

The Aga is housed in the existing fireplace, and there is open corner shelving for cookbooks off to one side. For practical use Benjamin and Julia purchased an integrated oven, which was housed in a cupboard with a drawer below, and a ceramic hob, which was fitted onto a drawer base cupboard.
